Hairy Crab, or Mao Xie, is a beloved Anxi oolong known for its thick, sweet leaves and rich, textured flavor. The name literally means “Hair of the Crab,” referring to the tiny hairs on the tea leaves that float on top of your cup when brewed. Compared to its more floral cousin Tie Guan Yin, Hairy Crab delivers a deeper, sweeter, and more substantial cup, perfect for multiple infusions.
Our latest batch comes from a high-altitude garden in Gan De Village, producing leaves that are thicker, more robust, and ideal for long, textured steeps. This tea is full-bodied and satisfying, with each infusion revealing layers of natural sweetness, a gentle roast, and a lingering complexity that keeps you coming back for more.
