Crafted from an early spring harvest on the slopes of Xinchang and Jin Yun, this bright and expressive green tea blends two cultivars—Xiao Ye Fuding and Long Jing 43—to capture the essence of the season. Picked as bud and two leaves from elevations around 550m, the result is a tea full of clarity, warmth, and character.
The dry leaves are a vibrant mix of kiwi and pistachio greens, soft with toasted yellow trichomes. On the nose, expect a comforting aroma of malted chocolate milk, toasted grain, and praline. When steeped, the wet leaf opens up with roasted chestnut, orchid, sesame candy, and a soft umami depth—like baked beans and sweet steam.
The liquor glows a clear citrine yellow. It begins thick, brothy, and vaporous on the tongue, then shifts into a more quenching and refreshing clarity. The flavor is a layered interplay of candied nuts, orchid florals, dill syrup, and the starchy sweetness of baked potato skin and iced buns.
The finish is dry and clean, with a silky melon-like juiciness and a faint creamy tingle. The empty cup echoes with the scent of orchids and warm caramel. It’s a tea that leaves you both bright and alert while still feeling relaxed and lifted—perfect for focused, happy afternoons.
